We design websites for anyone that asks for it. As a client, your job is to tell us about features you want on the site. We have a questionnaire every customer has to fill out, and it shows us everything you want from us. One of the things we want to know is what kind of traffic you want. Is it only free or paid traffic or a combination of both?
We are always here to help our clients in deciding what is best for them. This post is to give you a small insight into differences between these very different but important forms of traffic.
Advantages and disadvantages of these two options
Free traffic includes social media and SEO aka search engine optimization. This means that you make money through traffic that these two generate on your blogs and the site. This is a free way to make a profit through a website, but the gain you make won’t be high, and there is a high chance that competition will prevail and you won’t generate enough money to pay the bills.
The biggest advantage of free traffic is in the name – it is free! It can also generate profit long after you stop the campaign. But if you don’t manage the site then the traffic will go down. You have to pay a professional to maintain the site, and the profit isn’t guaranteed even then.
Paid traffic is a better option, and we advise all our clients to choose this option along with the free counterpart. This type of traffic is generated through paid ads, ad words, and other things. The most significant advantage of this option is the speed at which you generate traffic. More adds mean better chances for people to click on them. PPC aka Pay per Click will allow you to make money even if visitors don’t buy goods or services you offer.
The paid option is also excellent as it allows you to locate the target audience and place ads where they will see them. This can cost a lot of money, but it can also bring in a lot of people. It’s up to you to decide whether this option is better for you. If you hire a professional to manage your site, then there is only a small chance that you will lose money.
